Gametime

It's put up or shut up tonight for Northeastern. They come into the game tied in seventh place in Hockey East with UMass and Vermont. With a win, the Huskies clinch a playoff spot. If they lose, they will need help. All the scenarios for the Huskies can be found on wrbbsports.com.

I'll be back in a few with starting lineups for both teams.

This is the last game that will be played in Matthews Arena this season, as the Huskies are no longer able to clinch home-ice in the quarterfinals of the Hockey East playoffs. The building turns 100 on April 16th.

5-4 Final. BU wins it

The Terriers hold on to defeat Northeastern 5 to 4 at Agganis Arena.

Once again, a depressing loss for Northeastern.

BU clinches a spot in the playoffs with the win, NU can no longer get home ice in the playoffs and will be fighting for their playoff lives tomorrow night at Matthews Arena.

4 on 4

Penalties to Kyle Kraemer and Colby Cohen. Both get matching minors for slashing with 6 minutes remaining in the game. The teams will skate four aside...

BU Regains the Lead

NU turns the puck over behind their own net and Boston University makes them pay once again. The goal goes to Vinny Saponari.

The whole play resulted from Justin Daniels deciding not to bank the puck off the boards and out. Instead, he passed it back behind the NU net to his defenseman (Chris Student I think?) and student lost the puck in the boards to the BU player fore-checking. Before you knew it, the puck was in the back of the net.

Things Getting Tense

Stoppage of play with 11:19 left to go. The teams are at even strength.

Alex Tuckerman just got his bell rung and then on the ensuing play, Chris Rawlings had to make a good save, but we're still tied

Powerplay Huskies

Penalty to Wade Megan for slashing at 6:01 of the third period. NU PP.

Stats Through Two Periods

With a 4-4 score, the stats don't really tell the whole story after 40 minutes.

Shots: BU- 30 NU- 19

PP: BU- 0/3 NU- 0/3 (1 in progress)

Goals in that period: Warsofsky from Chiasson and Colby Cohen, Mike McLaughlin from Garrett Vermeersch and Jim Driscoll, and Jake Newton from Chris Donovan.
